Nestled among the rolling mountains with the glistening Mt Kanchenjunga towering over the azure sky, Darjeeling fondly called "Queen of the Hills", provides a perfect gateway for those seeking to be in harmony with nature. The name Darjeeling is a composition of ‘dorje’ meaning ‘thunderbolt’ and ‘ling’ meaning ‘place’ … ‘the Land of Thunderbolt’. The refreshing greenery stepped in splendour, verdant hills dotted with blossoming flowers & sprawling tea gardens, musical waterfalls, exotic forest with evergreen pine trees, etc all with the enigmatic snow capped Kanchan Junga are truly a paradise for nature lovers and fun seekers.

 

Day 1 :

Arrive Bagdogra / New Jalpaiguri – Drive to Darjeeling ( approx 100kms / approx 4 hrs )
Welcome to the “Land of Thunderbolt ” in the North eastern part of India. On arrival at the Bagdogra airport or New Jalpaiguri railway station, you will begin your tour of ‘Dazzling Darjeeling’. Proceed to Darjeeling (7380 Ft /2250 Mts.
Upon arrival in Darjeeling you will proceed to you hotel and check-in.
The rest of the day is at leisure for you to explore the city on your own.
Overnight in Darjeeling.

Day 2 :

Darjeeling
Early morning tour to Tiger Hills (8364 Ft / 2550 Mts at around 4 AM) to view sunrise over Kanchendzonga Peak (subject to clear weather).
Passing through primitive forests of Oak, Magnolia etc. with beautiful ferns ablaze with colour, adorning the hill-sides is the steeply ascending road to Senchal , running through Ghoom on its way to Tiger Hill , 11 kms from the town and at an elevation of 2,590m (8482 ft). The warm glow and the brilliant hues that the rising sun casts over the entire setting is a treat for the eyes.
On way back visit Ghoom Monastery, Batasia Loop. After breakfast proceed on a half-day sightseeing tour covering Japanese Temple – one of the beautiful Buddhist temples, Peace pagoda – four statues of Buddha in gold polish and eight carvings on sandstone depicting different stages of Buddha’s life , Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park & Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (Closed on Thursday) – dedicated towards conserving several endangered varieties of Himalayan fauna and home to a number of endangered species named Red Panda, Tibetan Wolf, the Siberian Tiger and Snow Leopard ; Tenzing & Gombu Rock – a gigantic natural rock in Darjeeling is named after Tenzing Norgay, the man who created history by climbing the Everest first time along with Edmund Hillary in 1953 ; Tibetan Refugee Self-Help Center (Closed on Sunday) – housing many Tibetan refugees who fled their country when china occupied Tibet and is the most important handicraft centre & Tea Estate to view the tea gardens.
The rest of the evening is free to relax or explore the local markets on your own lined with Tibetans selling hand-knitted sweaters and souvenir shops chock-full of Himalayan artifacts and both real and imitation antiques.
Overnight in Darjeeling.

Day 3 :

Darjeeling – Excursion to Mirik lake
After breakfast transfer to Mirik (5800 Ft / 1768 Mts / 50 Kms / 02 Hrs one way). The newest hill-resort in West Bengal, Mirik is at an altitude of about 5,800 feet and almost midway on a 100 km alternative route between Darjeeling and Siliguri. Mirik is an excellent scenic spot, and Kanchenjunga is visible. (Horse riding & Boat is available around the lake on direct payment basis). ( Private ).
Later visit the Pashupati Nagar (Indo-Nepal border) for shopping .
Rest of the day is at leisure for independent activities.
Overnight at Darjeeling.

Day 4 :

On to Bagdogra / New Jalpaiguri (100 kms / approx. 3-4 hours drive)
Today, bid farewell to your ‘Dazzling Darjeeling’ tour, as you are transferred to Bagdogra airport or New Jalpaiguri railway station for your onward journey.
